Company History Midcoast Teachers Store, located on the coast of Maine, opened it's doors on July 1, 1998. With the support of local schools and teachers the store has had steady growth from the very beginning. Tourists are amazed to find a REAL teachers supply store offering an extensive array of school supplies and teaching resources in the small, quaint town of Thomaston. Through the years, the store's inventory has evolved into a seasoned, indepth offering of educational resources to aid teachers in their classroom. In 2003 the gifted and talented inventory was increased to offer a wider selection, both to teachers and home schoolers. Then in 2004 the Midcoast Teachers Store was expanded to carry a larger selection of middle school resources. This year again, the square footage was increased to include more hands-on learning resources for enrichment and remedial education. All of the new offerings from the numerous vendors keep the inventory fresh and exciting.

Store Special
The relaxed atmosphere and the excellent selection of teacher resources is what makes Midcoast Teachers Store very special. Everyone can browse through the teacher resources, manipulatives, and classroom decorations at their own pace. Inventory is nicely organized by grade level so it's easy to find what you need.
An array of materials for home schooling, Christian education, remedial and enrichment are in stock. Parents wanting to enhance and reinforce their child's education will find a variety of materials available to them.

Mickey Dirnbauer and her husband, John, moved from the Philadelphia area to the midcoast of Maine in 1997. July 1, 1998 Mickey opened Midcoast Teachers Store in Thomaston. The local teachers were very happy not to have to drive miles to buy educational supplies or order from a catalog. With her husband's encouragement, Mickey's retailing degree from Michigan State University and her everyday hands-on approach, the store has become the largest "exclusively teachers resource store" in Maine.
Mickey is very familiar with the inventory and can guide teachers to the perfect choices for their classroom. She is in the store every day to make sure all customers enjoy their time in her store and are shown the materials they need. She is in close contact with her vendors to make sure innovative learning materials and top quality eduational products are on her shelves. Of course, her best source of information is always her customers!
